A strategic plan seeks to cast a vision for what future ministry will look like in light of our mission. It describes the needed expectations for participants to move toward that vision. Finally, it describes the specific areas that need to be developed if the whole mission is to be completed.
"A shared vision is not an idea.
It is, rather, a force in peoples' hearts.
A force of impressive power.
At its simplest level, a shared vision,
is the answer to the question,
'What do we want to create?'"
~ Peter Senge in The Fifth Discipline
And in the context of Maple Grove Covenant Church, the question to be answered with the shared vision is this: "What does God want to do through us?" This strategic vision is one forged in prayer, shaped by scripture and refined through dialogue with God's people. Its implementation is entirely dependent on God's leading and guidance and our faithful obedience. The strategic vision is less about specific programs and more about direction and purpose of mission to serve God and others.
